Refund Policy
Structural design is a professional service delivered in stages. This policy sets out when fees already paid can be returned, when they cannot, and how to raise a refund request.
Last updated: 18 August 2026
1. Scope
This policy applies to fees paid to Daylight for structural design and advisory services under an accepted proposal. It does not override any statutory cancellation right available to you. [JURISDICTION PLACEHOLDER: confirm consumer cancellation rights and cooling-off period — review]
2. Deposits and mobilisation fees
Most commissions begin with a mobilisation payment of 10 to 20 per cent of the first stage fee. That payment secures programme time and covers set-up: file review, model creation, and the initial constraints workshop.
If you cancel in writing before we begin work, the mobilisation payment is refunded in full. Once work has begun, the payment is applied against services performed and only the unused balance is refundable.
3. Cancellation before a stage begins
Where you cancel an appointment or a defined stage in writing at least 10 working days before that stage is scheduled to start, any fee prepaid for that stage is refunded in full, less costs already committed to third parties on your instruction (for example survey or testing subcontractors).
Cancellation with less than 10 working days' notice may attract a charge of up to 25 per cent of the stage fee to cover reserved engineering time, with the remainder refunded.
4. Work already performed
Fees for services already performed are not refundable. This includes issued calculations, drawings, analytical models, reports, peer review findings, survey attendance, site inspections, and meetings, whether or not the project proceeds to construction. Where a stage is partially complete we will issue a statement of work performed and refund the unused balance of any prepayment.
5. Non-refundable items
Statutory and third-party charges paid on your behalf — building control fees, laboratory testing, specialist software licences procured for the project, and subcontracted survey work — are not refundable once incurred.
6. Errors, omissions, and remedial work
If a deliverable does not meet the agreed scope or the professional standard set out in our Terms of Service, our first remedy is to correct the work at no additional cost within an agreed timeframe. Where correction is not possible or is no longer useful to you, we will refund the fee attributable to the deficient deliverable. Claims beyond that are dealt with under the liability provisions of our Terms of Service.
7. Disputed invoices
Raise a disputed invoice within 14 days of receipt, identifying the line items in question. Undisputed amounts remain payable. We issue a written response within 10 working days, including a corrected invoice or credit note where the dispute is upheld.
8. How to request a refund
Email help@granix.site with the project name, the invoice or payment reference, the amount requested, and the reason. We acknowledge within 3 working days and complete our assessment within 15 working days.
Approved refunds are paid to the original payment method or bank account within 10 working days of approval, in the currency of the original payment. Bank charges and currency conversion differences are not reimbursed.
9. Retainers
Retained advisory fees cover availability for a calendar month and are not refundable for unused hours. Retainers may be cancelled with 30 days' written notice, effective at the end of the notice month.
10. Governing law
This policy is governed by the same law and jurisdiction as our Terms of Service. [JURISDICTION PLACEHOLDER: insert governing law and dispute forum — review]
